Over the years, St. Joseph Church has witnessed significant historical events and undergone several transformations. During the Khmer Rouge regime (1975-1979), like other religious institutions in Cambodia, St. Joseph Church faced persecution, and its activities were severely restricted. Many priests and religious workers were targeted and killed, and the church itself suffered damage.
